The Clinical Efficacy of the Cough Powder and the Three Bend Decoction on Chronic Cough

Abstract
[Objective]To investigate the clinical efficacy of the Cough Powder and the Three Bend Decoction on chronic cough.[Methods]98 cases of chronic cough patients in our hospital from July 2010 to March 2012 were selected and were randomly divided into to the treatment group and the control group with the conventional western medicine,each group were 49 cases.The efficiency,adverse reactions and cure time were observed after treatment.[Results]The number and proportion of the effective and the total effective in the treatment group was significantly higher than the control group(P0.05),and the total effective number and the proportion of invalid case was significantly lower the control group(P0.05).the number and the rate of the adverse reactions case and the duration of treatment were 1,2.04% and 15 ±10.5days,respectively.Compared with control group were significantly lower than the treatment group(P0.05).[Conclusion]The clinical efficacy of the Cough Powder and the Three Bend Decoction on the chronic cough is superior to the ordinary western medicine,the effective rate is higher than the control group,the adverse reactions is fewer than the control group and shorten the treatment time.
