Clinical Study Treatment of Cervical Vertigo by the Means of Abdominal Acupuncture

Objective:To evaluate the therapentic effects of abdominal acupuncture on cervical vertigo,the purpose is to popularize a kind of simply,safe and effective therapy of Traditional Chinese Medicine to this disease.Methods:72 cases of cervical vertigo were divided into 2 groups randomly:42 patients were treated with abdominal acupuncture in treatment group and 30 patients were treated with routine acupuncture in control group.Assessment of clinical effects was done before and after 2 courses treatment,and the average blood flows of vertebral and basilar artery on transeranial Doppler were observed.Results:The effective rate was 95.24%in treatment groupVersus73.33% in Control group,with a significant difference between the two groups(P0.05).There is a significant difference between the two groups about the improvemental degree of main symptoms and functions after two courses treatments(P0.01).For the two parameters,there were significant differences between two groups(P0.01).After treatment,blood flow velocity of verterbral and basilar artery improved significantly in two groups(P0.05).Conclusion:The therapeutic effect of the treatment group was superior to that of the control group on treatment for cervical vertigo.The therapy can improve notonly the blood velocity of vertebrobasi lar artery,but also the symptoms and function as well.
