Abstract

Objective To explore the feasibility of antidromic puncturing at superficial vein trochar with the direction away from the heart to peripheral vein in the patients with poor vein condition who need a long-term transfusion. Methods 120 patients with the ages ranging from 18 to 76 were selected as the subjects. The self control method was used. The selected blood vessel was the superficial vein positioned at the left and right back of the patients' hand. The observation group used the superficial vein trochar with the direction away from the heart to peripheral vein, and the control group used the superficial vein trochar with the direction from the peripheral vein to the heart. The frequency of successful puncturation in one time, the hand activity, the incidence rate of effusion, the average transfusion velocity, the detaining duration of vein trochar and the incidence rate of phlebitis in the two groups were compared. Results The frequency of successful puncturation in one time, the hand activity, the hand activity and the average transfusion velocity, the detaining duration of vein trochar and the incidence rate of phlebitis in the observation group were superior to those in the control group. Conclusions The puncturing direction away from the heart to peripheral vein was a feasible and effective method in the patients with poor vein condition who need transfusion for a longer time.
