An Analysis of the Differentiation of Regional Higher Education Contribution Rate to Economic Growth

Based on a two-sector Cobb-Douglas economic growth model,this paper estimates the regional higher education's contribution rate to economic growth in various regions from 1996 to 2007 and the results show that there exists huge gap in the contribution rate of the regional higher education to economic growth in terms of different regions nationwide and different areas in the same region.As manifested in an in-depth analysis of the contribution rate to regional economic growth,the scale,input and hierarchy of regional higher education are the core internal elements for the differences of their contribution rate to economic growth.
