Abstract
This paper estimates the contribution of higher education to economic growth using related statistical data based on the Denison's method of factor analysis during 1991-2008.The results shows that the contribution of higher education to economic growth presents trend of escalation and the velocity of increase is rapid during 1991-2008.The contribution rate of higher education to economic growth is 0.81%,which is much lower compared with developed countries.China should further increase higher educational investment,enlarge higher educational scale and deepen structural reform of higher education to enhance the contribution of higher education to economic growth and promote economic development continually and healthily.
