Abstract
This paper has studied the relation between higher education and regional economic development.The study shows:(1)The development of higher education has a strong positive correlation with the development of local economic development,but the location will also affect the correlation.(2)Higher education has different influences to different regions.The influences become weaker from Central region to West region.(3)On the whole,the contribution of higher education to economic growth is still very low in our country.So we have to invest more in higher education,and enhance its contribution to economic growth.
