Abstract

Objective To observe the effect of central venous catheter closed-drainage of thoracic cavity compared with treatment of pleural effusion by routinly thoracentesis. Methods 112 patients with tuberculosic pleural effusion were divided into observation group(56 cases) and control group(56 cases). Results All patients in observation group were successful at catheter insertion and completely pleural effusion drainage after 4~14 days. Conclusion The effect and safety of central venous catheter closed-drainage were better than thoracentesis for treatment of tuberculosic pleural effusion.
