Abstract

Objective To analyze the effect of central venous catheter drainage on patients with pleural effusion. Methods 206 patients with pleural effusion patients(group A) were treated with chest closed drainage resection with the central venous catheter.128 patients with pleural effusion patients(group B) were treated with the traditional chest trabeculopuncture. The puncture times,Length of hospitalization and Hospital cost were observed. Results All patients of group A were successful. There were 2 cases with pneumothorax cured with drainage tube,8 cases with catheter obstruction flowed with guidewire or saline and 5 cases with catheter falling reset. All patients drained for 5~18 days.Group B was repeated puncture or inspection. Conclusion Central venous catheter chest closed drainage is simple, fast, small trauma and reliable.
