Abstract

Objective To estimate the clinic efficienty of vitreoretinal surgery associated with intraocular foreign body extraction on perforating wounds and intraocular foreign bodies in 30 cases. Methods The routine vitrectomy were used for excising foreign bodies and pathological vitreous body;magnetizable foreign bodies were extracted by the electromagnet,unmagnetizable foreign bodies were extracted from the incision by tweezer,20% C3F8 gas and silicone oil were injected into vitreous for those case with retinal detachment,then used intraocular laser. Results intraocular foreign bodies favorably extracted in the 30 cases,including 9 cases with the visual acuity more than 0.5,9 cases with the visual acuity more than 0.1,12 cases with the visual acuity less than 0.1 and 2cases with blindness. Conclusions Vitreoretinal surgery have the advantage of the more intuitionistic manipulation,the less scathe,the more extracting rate.Therefore,vitreoretinal surgery is an effective method to extract intraocular foreign bodies.
