Abstract
Dou Jing fan was the first Chinese to write a history of Chinese literature. Lin Chuan jia and Huang Ren were the representatives of writers in North China and East China respectively, who exerted great effect on the writing of history of literature. History of Chinese Literature by Lin Chuan jia, influenced by Shichuanzonglang in Japan, was not original. Huang Ren, however, made breakthroughs in views on history of literature, attaching much attention to the development of literature on the basis of quantity and quality as well as mutation.
