The Structure of Character “儿” in Henan Luoshan Dialect

Abstract
In Luoshan dialect of the Xinyang-Bangbu region of Zhongyuan Mandarin,character “儿” has three functions: as root morpheme(marks 儿 1);as syllabic suffix(marks 儿 2) and as non-syllabic suffix(marks 儿 3).These three functions overlap mutually and constitute multi-structure forms.In Luoshan dialect,the character of the development and change of “儿 ”is: some of them have experienced or are experiencing the stage from 儿 1 to 儿 2.Some of them have experienced or are experiencing the changing course from 儿 2to 儿 3 with 儿 3 takes much more advantage.So they provide some clues for exploration of the changing law of the character 儿.
