Abstract
Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus(PRRSV) is a newer pathogen of pigs which has severely hazarded the industry of raising swine.In recent years,the worldwide scholars have been deeply studing PRRSV and have gotten an important progress on molecular biology.The structure and function of the genome of PRRSV have been clearly recognized.The kinds and structure of the viral proteins coded by genome and gene variation of PRRSV have been revealed step by step.In addition,the interaction between PRRSV and other pathogens is gradually emphasized and the researchs in this area continue to increase. These studies offer a scientific basis for the design of vaccine and the prevention and therapy of PRRS.
