Abstract

Objective To explore the etiology of secretory otitis media in children and its clinical therapy and effect. Methods 140 cases(214 ears) with secretory otitis media(SOM) underwent fiberoptic endoscopic examination of children find the cause, according to etiology and treated by myringotomy with grommet insertion and other comprehensive treatment. Results 140 cases(214 ears) with SOM, 116 cases were cured, 15 cases improved, 9 cases are invalid, the cure rate was 82.9%. Conclusion The secretory otitis media in children causes for comprehensive treatment, can achieve satisfactory clinical efficacy, is worthy of clinical application.
