Abstract

Wu Qian,a famous official in the Southern Song dynasty,who was generous and concerned with the national affairs,practiced economy and cherished the people,and was not attached to bigwigs.Wu Qian reported to the emperor again and again to express his unique perspectives and measures on the country's political,economic situation,military strategies and methods of employment.Therefore,he served as prime minister twice during Li-zong Period.However,Wu Qian's some good recommendations were not implemented or even so did ineffectively because of the changes in the social situation and the complex fighting relationship between the Emperor and the ministers.The main reason why Wu Qian was forced to retreat from the position of the prime minister were his colleagues's suppress,Tai Jian's attack and his own personality.
