Clinical Research of COPD of Lung Qi Deficiency Pattern/Syndrome at Stable Stage Treated with Jiawei Bufei Decoction

Objective To observe and assess the therapeutic effect of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)of lung qi deficiency pattern/syndrome at stable stage treated with jiawei bufei decoction and explore the effect mechanism on COPD.Methods Sixty patients in compliance with inclusive standards were randomized into a treatment group and a control group,30 cases in each one.In the treatment group,on the basic treatment with oral administration of jiawei bufei decoction,Theophylline Sustained Release Tablets,0.2 g bid and Acetylcysteine Effervescent Tablets,0.6 g bid were supplemented.In the control group,Theophylline Sustained Release Tablets,0.2 g bid and Acetylcysteine Effervescent Tablets,0.6 g bid were prescribed for oral administration.The treatment session was 4 weeks.The clinical symptoms and survival quality indexes were observed before and after treatment for the patients in the two groups.Results The total effective rate was 93.33% in the treatment group and was 73.33% in the control group.The effective rate in the treatment group was apparently superior to the control group(P0.05).It explained that jiawei bufei decoction relieved the symptoms of patients,improved and regulated pulmonary functions,maintained BODE index stability,reduced inflammatory level and improved apparently the prognosis of disease.Conclusion Jiawei bufei decoction is the effective formula for COPD of lung qi deficiency pattern/syndrome.It acts on tonifying lung qi,improving significantly the survival quality of patients and delaying the development of disease.It indicates the very good value of clinical practice.
