Expression and significance of p504S and PCNA in human prostatic carcinoma

Objective:To study the expressions of p504S and PCNA in prostatic carcinoma and benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH) as well as their clinical significance.Methods:The expressions of p504S and PCNA in 31 cases of benign prostatic hyperplasia and 59 cases of prostatic carcinoma were detected by immunohistochemical methods.Results:The expression of PCNA in the carcinoma tissue was significant higher than that in the benign prostatic hyperplasia tissue,the difference was significant(P0.01).The expression of PCNA was increased with the increase of pathological grade and clinical grade(P0.05).The expression of p504S in the carcinoma tissue was significant higher than that in the benign prostatic hyperplasia tissue,the difference was significant(P0.01).But which was not connected with pathological grade and clinical grade.Conclusion:p504s is a sensitive and specific prostate cancer marker.Combined detection of p504s and PCNA can greatly improve the diagnosis of prostatic cancer.
