Abstract
[Objective] To compare the therapeutic effect and safety of transurethral lithotrite and Ho:YAG laser lithotripsy in treating BPH complicated with bladder stones.[Method] We divided a total of 73 cases of BPH complicated with bladder stones into 2 groups. In group A,38 cases were performed of lithotrite lithotripsy combined with TURP or TUVP;in group B,35 cases received Ho:YAG combined with bipolar plasmakinetic prostatectomy,we compared the complication and effect of lithotripsy in and, after operation.[Result] In group A,prostate and bladder neck injury happened in 5 cases, failure of lithotripsy are 3 cases, another 3 cases had urethral stricture post-operation,the achievement ratio is 79.0%(30/38);As in group B,there is no complication in the period of operation, all 35 cases succeeded in smashing the stones, only one case present urethral orifice stricture. The achievement ratio between group A and B had statistical significance(P 0.05).[Conclusion] It is a safe and effective way to treat BPH complicated with bladder stones by transurethral HO:YAG laser lithotripsy.
