Clinical Observation on Jiedu Huayu Decoction in Treating Henoch-Schonlein Purpura Nephritis

Abstract
Objective:To observe the effects of Jiedu Huayu Decoction and Western medicine to treat Henoch-Schonlein nephritis in children.Methods:69 patients were divided into two groups randomly,36 patients in treating group and 33 patients in control group.The control group was treated by western medicine therapy,and treatment group were treated by western medicine therapy with Jiedu Huayu Decoction for 8 weeks.It were observed that clinical effects,24-hour urine protein examination,urinary erythrocyte and renal change before and after treatment.Results:In treating group,21 patients were cured,13 effective,2 ineffective and the total effective rate was 94.4 %,and 12,15,6 and 81.9 % in control group respectively.The therapeutic effect in treating group was superior to that in control group(P0.05).Conclusion:The combined treatment of Chinese and western medicine had better curative effect on Henoch-Schonlein purpura nephritis than western medicine only.
