Abstract

The research aimed to study the insecticidal and antifeedant activity of extracts from walnut peel against wolfberry aphids. The insecticidal activities of the ethanol extract and 4 kinds of extracts with petroleum ether, chloroform, ethyl acetate and water from walnut peel against wolfberry aphids were studied. The results showed that 95% ethanol extract displayed high contact insecticidal activity to wolfberry aphids. The corrected mortality after 48 h reached 86.6% under the concentration of 50.00g/L.The insecticidal and anti-feeding activities of 4 extractsagainst wolfberry aphids were in the order of water extract chloroform extract ethyl acetate extract petroleum ether extract. The corrected mortality of water extract after 48h was 93.0%.Walnut peel had very high contact toxicity and anti-feeding activities to wolfberryaphids, and the activity substances were a kind of strong polar compounds.
