Abstract
p-Benzylanisole was synthesized by Friedel-Crafts reaction between anisole and benzyl chloride with ZnCl_2/HAP as catalyst. The yield reached 84.3% and the purity of the product was 98.8%.The product was confirmed by IR、1H NMR and elemental analysis.Meanwhile, the effect of volume of anisole, reaction time, catalyst dosage and catalyst recycle on the reaction was investigated, and the optimum conditions were found to be as follows:volume of anisole was 50 mL,reflux reaction time was 5 min, amount of catalyst was 0.3 g (based on 0.05 mol benzyl chloride). The catalyst was recycled for 4 times and the yield was steady.
