Abstract

Objective To study the effect of sertraline on depression and recovery of nervous function after stroke. Methods 176 post-stroke depression patients were randomly divided into sertraline group(89 cases) and control group(87 cases). Before and after treatment, the effect of sertraline treatment was analyzed with Hamilton depression scale (HAMD) ,Scandinavian stroke scale (SSS) and Barthel index(BI).Results The scores of HAMD and SSS of the sertraline group were lower and BI was higher than those of control group (P 0.05).Conclusion Sertraline is effective in the treatment of patients with post-stroke depression, and can promote recovery of nervous function.
