Abstract

Objective:To study the effect of sertraline on depression after stroke.Methods:128 post-stroke depression patients were randomized into groups observation(n=66) and control(n=62).Before and after treatment, the effect of sertraline treatment was analyzed with Hamilton depression scale(HAMD),Scandinavian stroke scale(SSS) and Barthel index(BI).Results:The scores of HAMD and SSS of the sertraline group were lower and BI was higher than those of control group(P0.05).Conclusion:Sertraline is effective in the treatment of patients with post-stroke depression.
