Abstract

Objective To compare the clinical effect of Repaglinide and Glipizide on the type 2 diabetes Methods 86patients with type 2 diabetes including no satisfactory efficacy with controlled diet alone or/and combined diabex management were randomly divided into two groups:repaglinide group(n=44 cases) and glipiaide group(n=42 cases). The clinical course investigated was twelve weeks, treated with Repaglinide and Glipiaide for 12 weeks, and kept close watch on FBG(fasting blood glucose), 2hPG, HbA1c, TC, Weight, TG, the reactions of low level blood sugar etc. Results Both repaglinide and glipiaide significantly decreased FBG. but the lowering range had no statistical difference(P0.05). However the decreasing level of 2hPG and HbA1c value of repaglinide group was higher than the level in glipiaide group. Conclusoins both repaglinide and glipiaide can effectively reduce FBG, but the repaglinide is more effective in decreasing 2hPG and HbA1c than glipiaide.
