Curative Effect of Repaglinide and Glipizide on Early Stage Type 2 Diabetes

Objective To compare the clinical effect of Repaglinide and Glipizide on the early stage of type 2 diabetes. Methods 80 cases of type 2 diabetes were randomly divided into 2 groups,and treated with Repaglinide and Glipizide for 24 weeks,and kept close watch on FBG,2hPG,HbA_1c,C-peptide,TC,Weight,TG,the reactions of low level blood sugar etc.. Results The lowering blood sugar effect of the two drugs was similar(P0.05).The lowering level of both drugs of HbA_1c was very significant(P0.05).Repaglinide was better than Glipizide after 24 weeks.Both drugs could increase the serum level of C-peptide in empty condition(P0.05),but no significant difference existed(t0.05). Conclusion Both Repaglinide and Glipizide are effective in lowering blood suger of early stage of type 2 diabetes,but Repaglinide has the advantages of controlling HbA_1c and proctecting the B-cell.Repaglinide is a good blood sugar lowering drug.
