Comparison of clinical efficacy between gatifloxacin and lecofloxacin in the treatment of urinary system infection

Abstract

Objective To compare the clinical efficacy and safety rate between gatifloxacin and levofloxacin in the treatment of urinary system infection . Methods 60 patients with urinary system infection were randomly divided into 2 groups (n=30),the gatifloxacin group and the levofloxacin group .The gatifloxacin group were given gatifloxacin 0.2g iv drip,bid ,and the lecofloxacin group levofloxacin 0.2g iv drip,bid.The treatment period was 5-10d. Results The effective rate in gatifloxacin group, was 97%,and 93% in lecofloxac group 93%.The cure rates in gatifloxac group was 97% and 94% in levofloxacin group.there was no significant difference between the two groups (P0.05). Conclusion Gatifloxacin has the same efficacy as levofloxacin in the treatment of urinary system infection.
