Olanzapine in Treatment of Mania:Clinical Analysis of 24 Cases

Abstract

Objective To study the efficacy and the side effects of olanzapine in treatment of mania.Method Twenty-four patients with mania were treated by olanzapine for 4 weeks,and the efficacy and side effects were evaluated by BRMS,GAS,CGI-SI,and TESS.Results There were 8 cases of recovery after therapy,8 cases of significant improvement,4 cases of improvement and 4 cases remained unchanged.Conclusion Olanzapine is a safe and efficacious drug in treatment of mania with little side effects.
