Abstract
Objective To approach the clinical significance of urinary sICAM-1 excretion in diabetics with the different degree urinary albumin excretion rate.Methods 20 normal controls and 58 type 2 diabetics were recruited in this study.Diabetics were divided into 3 groups according to urinary albumin excretion rate(UAER):(1)normoalbuminuria group(group A),UAER20 μg/min,n=21;(2)microalbuminuria group(group B),20 μg/min ≤UAER200 μg/min,n=20;(3)macroalbuminuria group(group C),UAER200 μg/min,n=17.sICAM-1 were measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Results(1)Theurinary sICAM-1/Ucr ratio in diabetics were significantly higher than that in controls(P0.01),and increased with UAER;The urinary sICAM-1/Ucr ratio in the group B wasobviously higher than that in the group A(P0.05),and increased further in the group C(P0.05);likewise,the group C was higher than the group B(P0.05).(2)The relative analysis showed that urinary sICAM-1/Ucr ratio was positively related to UAER(r=0.852,P0.01).Conclusion The increased urinary sICAM-1 excretion indirectly indicate enhanced inflammatory response in vivo or local kidney in type 2 diabetics,which also related to the progression of diabetic nephropathy.
