Clinical Observation of Qinchang Yuyang Tang in Treatment of Ulcerative Colitis

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Qinchang Yuyang Tang(formula for clearing intestines and curing ulceration)on ulcerative colitis.Methods 80 patients were randomly divided into control group and treatment group,40 cases in each one.Mesalamine was applied in control group and Qingchang Yuyang Tang in treatment group.It was to observe clinical efficacy and the improvements of main clinical symptoms,stool routine and colonoscopic mucus after treatment in two groups.Results The total effective rate was 70.0% in control group and was 95.0% in treatment group,indicating significant difference in comparison of two groups(P0.05).In the 14th day of treatment in treatment group,the improvements of clinical symptoms were superior to those in control group(P0.05).Conclusion Qingchang Yuyang Tang presents significant efficacy on ulcerative colitis and it deserves to be promoted in clinical practice.
