Abstract
Objective To seek a more effective and accurate method for screening syphilis. Methods The antibody to Treponema pallidum in 82 syphilis cases, 60 cases with oter disease and 50 normal persons were determined byTP-ELISA,TRUST and TPHA. Results The sensitivity, specifity, positive predictive value, negative prective value ,the diagnostic rate of TP-ELISA were 93.1% (27/29), 98.1(108/110), 98.3%(108/110), 97.4%(187/192), similar to that of TPHA and superior to TRUST. The total coincidence of TP-ELISA with TPHA was 97.2%),higher than that of TRUST and TPHA (85.4%). Conclusion TP-ELISA method is the first choice for detection of syphilis.
