Abstract

[Objective]To explore the feasibility of AIDS prevention through condom promotion which was the intervention measure on high-risk behavior among MSM.[Methods]Condom promotion,peer education,lectures were conducted among MSM in Pulandian from January to October 2009.The awareness rate of AIDS related knowledge and condom use rate were compared before and after intervention.[Results]Of the 62 MSM investigated,the awareness rate of AIDS related knowledge was 71.84% and 91.07% before and after intervention (P0.01).6.45% and 37.10% of them used condom when had sex behavior each time in the last month before and after intervention (P0.01).27.42% and 77.42% of them used condom when had sex behavior in the last time before and after intervention (P0.01).[Conclusion]Intervention on high-risk behavior among MSM can effectively improve the awareness rate of AIDS related knowledge and condom use rate.
