Abstract

OBJECTIVE To investigate the liver toxicity of mice and rats using CCl4 as hepatotoxicity for iconic compounds. METHODS The change of AST,ALT and GLDH after CCl4 given to mice were studied. The change of liver pathological characteristics after CCl4 given to SD rats with intraperitoneal injection was observed. RESULTS In this condition,ALT,AST and GLDH can well reflect liver toxicity. Carbon tetrachloride could cause SD rats focal liver tissue necrosis,steatosis,fibrosis,cavernous degeneration. Between the male rats female,the incidence of rat liver tissue multifocal necrosis,steatosis,fibrosis had no significant differences,but the liver tissue spongiform degeneration incidence was obviously higher in male rtas than in female rats( P 0. 05) . CONCLUSION In a landmark CCl4 hepatotoxic compounds,the mice and rats hepatotoxic performance and evaluation method can be used as reference for emergency liver toxicity testing method.
