Abstract
Thermal sprayed WC-Co coatings have been rapidly developed and applied extensively as the resistant coatings owing to the coatings' high hardness and excellent wear resistance, and the research progress and prospect of WC-Co composite coatings prepared by thermal spraying are reviewed in the present paper. The characteristics of WC-Co powders and coating fabrication methods are introduced, and the microstructures and properties of various WC-Co coatings deposited by different processes are compared.Research has shown:HVOF are more suitable for depositing multimodal and nano-structured WC-Co coatings;the mechanical properties and wear resistance of multimodal and nano-structured WC-Co coatings are greatly enhanced in compare with conventional WC-Co coatings.
