The Conjunctive Function of Haiyou(还有) and Its lexicalization

Abstract

Haiyou(还有) acts as a phrase and a conjunction in modem Chinese,which can not only connect word and phrase,but also link sentence to express parataxis.The conjunctive usage of Haiyou(还有) emerged at the end of Yuan(元) dynasty or at the beginning of Ming(明) dynasty.The conjunction Haiyou(还有) came into being and secured by reanalysis to bring on the boundary loss when the existent Haiyou(还有) is influenced with context and intercourse of communication.It is the result of phrase's lexicalization.Its lexical condition is the advance of frequency of its use.
