ON THE EVOLVING COURSE OF "ZAISHUO"(再说)

Zaishuo,firstly appeared in Liu Chao and was used as a verb phrase.During the Song and Yuan Dynasties,the phrase was inceasingly applied,and the universal application of the phrase was in the Qing Dynasty.Zaishuo as a verb first appeared in the Ming Dynasty and more commonly used in the Qing Dynasty.As a conjunction it first appeared in the Qing Dynasty.The phrase Zaishuo could appear both at the beginning and the end of a sentence,with the former evolved into a verb usage,and the latter into the use of a conjunction.The lexicalization of Zaishuo is along with its grammaticalization,an important condition for its evolving from a phrase into a word.
