Abstract

Objective:To investigate the curative effect and safety of carvedilol treatment on chronic congestive heart failure(CHF).Methods:71 cases with CHF were randomly divided into two groups:the carvedilol treatment group(treated group) and the conventional treatment group(control group),comparing changes of the left ventricular end-diastolic diameter(LVEDD),left ventricular end-systolic diameter(LVESD),left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF),heart rate, blood pressure, cardiac function in two groups between before and after six-months' treatment,in order to observe the curative effect and safety of carvedilol. Results:The LVEDD,LVESD,blood pressure and heart rate reduces, and LVEF,cardiac function classification raised significantly. And the difference compared to control group had significance(P0.05).Conclusion:The carvedilol improve the cardiac function, enhance the remodeling of left ventricular, and it is safe and effective.
