Effects of Integration of Traditional and Western Medicine in the Treatment of Chronic Ulcerative Colitis

Objective To explore clinical efficacy of intergrated traditional and western medicine in treatment of chronic ulcerative colitis of chronic relapse type of pathogenic mode. Methods 58 cases with ulcerative colitis were selected and divided into two groups (the treated group and the control group). 32 cases of treated group were treated with intergrated traditional and western medicine; 26 cases of the control group were treated with western medicine. The curative effects were observed. Results The total therapeutic effective rate in two groups were 90.6 percents and 69.2 percents respectively. The treated group was significantly improved compared with the control group (P 0.05). Conclusion Intergrated traditional and western medicine can significantly enhance the therapeutic effect on treatment of chronic ulcerative colitis of chronic relapse type of pathogenic mode.
