Abstract

Dihydroflavonol 4-reductase(DFR)is the key enzyme in the biosynthesis of anthocyanidins. With the total RNA from red-flower pomegranate Taishanhong as template and using degenerate primers,a new cDNA fragment of 446 bp was amplified by RT-PCR.The sequence analysis demonstrated that the deduced amino acid sequence shared 78%~81% homology with that of sweet cherry, grape and etc. These results suggested that the cloned cDNA fragment was from DFR gene of red-flower pomegranate, and its accession number in GenBank was JN316028.
