Comparison of efficacy of two programs in eradication of Helicobacter pylori-related gastric ulcer

OBJECTIVE To compare the clinical efficacy of two programs in eradication of Helicobacter pylori(Hp)-related gastric ulcer so as to guide the clinical treatment.METHODS A total of 84patients with Hp-related gastric ulcer,who were treated in the hospital from Sep 2010to Aug 2012,were enrolled in the study and were randomly divided into the group A(omeprazole,amoxicillin and clarithromycin ADR group)and the group B(esomeprazole,amoxicillin and clarithromycin group)with 42cases in each,then the total effective rate of treatment,the eradication rate of Hp,and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.RESULTS The total effective rate of treatment of the group B was 100.00%,significantly higher than that of the group A;the eradication rate of Hp of the group B was 97.62%,significantly higher than that of the group A;however,the incidence of the adverse reactions of the group B was 2.38%,lower than that of the group A,the difference was statistically significant(P0.05).CONCLUSION The efficacy and safety of esomeprazole,amoxicillin and clarithromycin are relatively high in the treatment of Hp-associated gastric ulcers.
