Abstract
Objective:By detecting the decreased ratio of the transverse section areas of umbilical cord around the neck (UCAN) with Doppler ultrasonography, to evaluate the relation between the transverse section areas of UCAN and fetal intrauterine anoxia.Methods:285 fetuses with UCAN from 1 to 3 w before antepartum.were examined to calculate the decreased ratio of the transverse section areas of UCAN and umbilical artery blood flow parameter. The fetuses were tested by nonstress test (NST) to observe the fetal Apgar Score after childbirth. Results:The fetuses were divided into anoxia group and non-anoxia group according to NST score. The ratio of decrease areas non-anoxia group (43.3±7.6) was obviously less than that of anoxia group (65.6±8.3,P0.01).There also was significant difference in umbilical artery blood flow parameter and fetal Apgar score between the two groups. Conclusion:The decreased ratio of the transverse section areas of UCAN detection by ultrasonography can imply fetal intrauterine anoxia in time, and can provide strong help for clinical early diagnosis and timely treatment.
