Abstract
Considering that enhancement of the competitiveness of any industry is closely related with the external environment,the article incorporates environmental factors into the evaluation system of competitiveness of modern service industry which is composed of five-level index and 36 secondary indicators.Based on the evaluation system,the article,using factor analysis and hierarchical analysis,evaluates and sorts the competitiveness of modern service industry of 21 cities in Guangdong province,i-dentifies its advantages and disadvantages and the most important factor of the competitiveness of the modern service industry,and puts forward some suggestion to accelerate the development of modern service industry in Guangdong province.
