Evaluation of MCV,RDW and4parameters of platelets in the diagnosis of patients with hep atitis.

Objective To study the relation of the changes in MCV,RDW and4parameters of platelets in patients with hepatitis to the course of disease.Methods One hundred and eighty one patients with hepatitis and100healthy controls were detected by a CD-1600automatic blood cell counter from ABBOTT company.Results The MCV,RDW and MPV in patiets with hepatic cirrhosis,chronic hepatitis,and acute hepatitis were significantly higher than those in the controls(P0.01).Meanwhile,PLT,PDW and PCT in these patients were significantly lower than those in the controls(P0.01).The MCV,RDW and MPV were positively correlated,so were PLT,PDW and PCT.The MCV,RDW,MPV and PLT,PDW,PCT were negatively correlated.Con-clu sions (1)The MCV and RDW can reflect the severity of hepatic disease and dam-age of liver function.(2)The determination of4blood platelet parameters provides a easy,rapid,and reliable way for primary assessment of blood platelet function the pa-tients with liver diseases.
