OBJECTIVE To study the changes and clinical significance of NSE and β2-MG in cerebrospinal fluid with central system infection in pediatric patients.METHODS The cerebrospinal fluid levels of NSE was detected with ECLI and β2-MG was detected with LAT.RESULTS The levels of NSE and β2-MG in PM acute stage were(15.7±4.2)ug/L and(8.1±2.4)mg/L,their levels were(18.4±6.5)ug/L and(12.6±5.0)mg/L in TM acute stage,their levels were(10.8±3.7)ug/L and(4.3±2.4)mg/L in VE acute stage.The levels of NSE and β2-MG in acute stage were significantly higher than those of the cases in convalescent stage and control group(P0.01).The levels of NSE and β2-MG in acute stage of PM and TM were significantly higher than those of the cases in VE(P0.01).The level of β2-MG in acute stage of TM was significantly higher than those of PM(P0.01).CONCLUSION Determination of CSF NSE and β2-MG levels can provide reliable means for rapid differential diagnosis central system infection in pediatric patients.
