Abstract
Objective:To explore the clinical value of detecting cerebrospinal fluid S-100b and NSE in children with viral encephalitis. Methods: The level of S-100b in CSF was detected by ELISA,the level of NSE was detected with ECLI,and the levels were compared with those of normal children. Results: The levels of S-100b and NSE in acute stage were(364.8±81.5)ng/L and(12.5±6.1)μg /L,while their levels were(176.4±21.9)ng/L and(5.7±2.8)μg /L in restoration stage, the levels of S-100b and NSE in acute stage were significantly higher than those of the cases in restoration stage and normal children(P0.05).The levels of S-100b and NSE in severe group were(485.1±122.7)ng/L and(17.4±10.6)μg /L,while their levels were(259.0±67.1)ng/L and(9.1±4.3)μg /L in mild group. The levels of S-100b and NSE in severe group were significantly higher than those of the cases in mild group, they in mild cases were significantly higher than those of the cases in normal group(P0.05).Conclusion: It is important to detect the levels of S-100b and NSE for the differential diagnosis of pediartic patients with viral encephalitis.
