Expressions of HPA mRNA in non-small cell lung cancer and its clinical significance

Abstract

Objective To investigate the human heparanase(HPA)mRNA expression and its relationship with the clinicopathological characteristics in non-small cell lung cancers.Methods The expression of HPA mRNA in NSCLC cancer tissues(n=48),tumor adjacent tissues(n=10)and normal lung tissues(n=10)were detected by realtime reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(realtime RT-PCR).Results The expression level of HPA mRNA(8.244±5.314)was markedly higher than that in tumor adjacent tissues(1.043±0.478)and normal lung tissues(1.025±0.465)(P0.01).The high expression level of HPA mRNA in the NSCLC tissues significantly correlated with the pathology types(P0.05)lymphatic metastasis(P0.05)and TNM stage(P0.01).No significant differences in high HPA mRNA expression were observed with age,smoking,gender,and degree of differentiation among the NSCLC patients(P0.05).Conclusions Heparanase has more expression in NSCLC than normal lung tissues,It was correlated with infiltration and metastasis of NSCLC.
