Clinical efficacy of Fufangxueshen capsule in the treatment of chronic abacterial prostatitis

Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of Fufangxueshen Capsule in the treatment of chronic abacterial prostatitis(CAP) patients.Methods One hundred thirty outpatients with a diagnosis standard consistent with NIH CAP were classified into group A(75 cases) and group B(55 cases).Two groups were divided further into group A1(41cases),group A2(34cases) and group B1(24cases),group B2(31 cases) according to leukocyte counts in EPS.The efficacy was evaluated by the varieties of Chronic Prostatitis Symptom Index(CPSI) after group A had been treated with Fufangxueshen Capsule and group B with Qianliekang Tablet for a month.Results There were statistically significant differences(P0.05) in group A and group B between the pretreatment and posttreatment and the efficacy in group A showed significant difference(P0.05) compared with group B after one month of treatment as well,but no difference(P0.05) between ⅢA and ⅢB.Conclusion Both Fufangxueshen Capsule and Qianliekang Tablet are effective for the treatment of CAP and the former is superior to the latter,but ⅢA and ⅢB have no differences on the curative effect.
