Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of cisplatin on inhibiting proliferation of liver cancer HepG2 cells. Methods Cancer cell lines were cultured to exponential phase and divided into groups in which cisplatin of different concentration were added, while the untreated group was used as control. The inhibitory effect of cisplatin on cells was measured by MTT assay and the morphological changes of cells were also observed under optical microscope. Results MTT assay showed that cisplatin could inhibit the proliferation of HepG2 cells in dose-dependent manner. Conclusion Cisplatin could inhibit the proliferation of HepG2 cells.
