Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical values of spiral CT angiography in diagnosis of aortic diseases. Methods Spiral CT angiography were performed in 25 patients with aortic diseases. The volume datum of all patients were reconstructed with the 3D techniques including Shaded Surface Display(SSD),Multiple plane Reformation(MPR)and Maximum Intensity Projection(MIP).All of the 3-D and the axial images were analyzed. Results SSD showed extent, size of abdominal aneurysm, intimas flake of dissection and the involred branches; The calcification of the aortie wall and extent of aneurysm were demonstrated in MIP imaging. The aortie lesion is shown at any wanted aspects in MPR, in which the mural thrombus, intimae flake,true/balse lumen of disrection, and calcification were desnonstrated. Conclusion Applications of spiral CT angiography can be a reliable way for diagnosis of aortic diseases. It is a useful alternative of interventional angiography in assessment of the lesions of major blood vessels.
