Abstract

It was not until the Chinese modem educational system was founded that the modern educational philosophy emerged as a study subject in China. The principal beliefs of the Chinese traditional educational philosophy is the Unity of Heaven and person and the Unity of Knowing and Diong. The Chinese modern educational philosophy sees itself in three aspects devoid and insufficient: Lack of running thorough knowledge connection between both the traditional and modern, and between the Western and Chinese; more or less inaccuracies in its scientific research which, to some extent, slow down its development; Some difficulties in theoretical research. To promote its development in the new millenium, the scientific study on educational philosophy can be conducted in relation to four aspects, that is, a feasible methodology in its research, a welcome sense of educational value, an objective recognition on people's quality and a favorable understanding on subjectivity.
