Results of Acute Toxicity Test of Nine Pesticides

Abstract

[Objective] To test the acute toxicity of nine kinds of pesticides, including 40% methidathion emulsion, 100 /L bifenthrin emulsion, 400g/L chlorpyrifos emulsion, 18g/L avermectin emulsion, 25g/L lambda-cyhalothrin emulsion, imidacloprid 70% WG, 45% malathion emulsion, polyoxin 3% WP and imidacloprid 200 g/L SL.[Methods]According to the Toxicological test methods of pesticides for registration (GB 15670-1995), the acuteoral toxicity test, acute percutaneous toxicity test, acute dermal irritation test in the rabbits, Draize eye irritation test and guinea pig skin allergy test were conducted in nine kinds of pesticides.[Results]The acute oral toxicity test showed that 40% methidathion emulsion was classified as the high toxicity level, 100 g/L bifenthrin emulsion was classified as the medium toxicity level, and others was classified as the low toxicity level. The acute percutaneous toxicity test showed that all of pesticides was classified as the low toxicity level. Nine of pesticides had the slight skin and eye irritation.The skin allergy test showed that all of nine pesticides were classⅠweak sensitizer.[Conclusion]A majority of the nine pesticides were low toxicity pesticide, but a few of them were identified as the high and medium toxicity pesticide, and all of nine pesticides had the skin and eye irritation. The producers and users should pay attention to the individual safety protection.
