Acute Toxicity of 38 Types of Biological Pesticides

[Objective] To detect the acute toxicity of 38 types of biological pesticides. [Methods] Acute oral toxicity test,acute dermal toxicity test on rats,eye and dermal irritation test on rabbits were conducted with 38 types of biological pesticides according to GB 15670-1995 Toxicological Test Methods of Pesticide for Registration. [Results] The acute oral toxicity test showed that 2 types of biological pesticides belonged to high toxicity,2 types belonged to medium toxicity and others belonged to low toxicity; the acute dermal toxicity test showed that 1 type of biological pesticides belonged to medium toxicity and others belonged to low toxicity; the eye irritation test showed that 1 type of biological pesticides belonged to severe stimulation,4 types belonged to medium to severe stimulation,4 types belonged to medium stimulation,4 types belonged to slight to medium stimulation,7 types belonged to slight stimulation and others had no stimulation; the dermal irritation test showed that 5 types of biological pesticides belonged to medium stimulation,4 types belonged to slight stimulation and others had no stimulation. [Conclusion] A majority of the biological pesticides belong to low-toxicity pesticide with a few of high-toxicity and medium-toxicity; most of the biological pesticides have stimulation to the eye and skin; the producers and users should be cautious of individual safety protection.
